Prayer When You Are Afraid
For fear that comes without warning.
Lord, I am afraid, and I am tired of pretending I am not.
You know what I fear better than I can name it. I don't ask You to promise me a particular ending. I ask You to stay, and to make me braver than I feel.
Hold my hand in the dark. Amen.
